Located at 12-4 Kashiwagi, Kawakami, this charming spot boasts a stunning view of the Yoshino River, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a ride or a day of exploring.

As you step inside, the friendly atmosphere envelops you. The husband-and-wife team who run the cafe are not just passionate about serving delicious food; they are also avid motorcycle riders themselves. With the husband speaking a bit of English, they ensure every customer feels right at home. The cafe's open style creates an inviting environment where the sounds of nature blend seamlessly with the gentle hum of passing motorcycles.

One of the highlights of the menu is the yakisoba bread lunch set, an explosion of flavor that comes wrapped in soft, delicious bread. Customers rave about the generous portions that are both satisfying and budget-friendly, often priced at around ¥1000, pairing perfectly with a cup of their aromatic coffee, though it’s worth noting there’s no espresso available.

For those looking for a quintessential Japanese cafe experience, the strawberry latte and the ever-popular yakisoba, served with tantalizing sauces and a hearty filling, are must-tries. One review noted the spectacular richness of the yakisoba sandwich, saying it's “a big, stuffed delight” that leaves you craving another bite. The cafe’s outdoor seating offers a comfortable vantage point to soak in the beautiful surroundings while indulging in these delicious creations.

Yet, it’s not just the food that draws locals and tourists alike; it’s the community vibe. Open Cafe Hide has become a gathering spot for riders who frequent it for the camaraderie over shared passions. From bikers like Nicholas Hayes who appreciate the free motorcycle parking and the friendly service, to visitors like koo Ma, who discovered this gem for the first time and pledged to return, every visit leaves a lasting impression.

If you’re considering a visit, make sure to watch for the designated motorcycle parking nearby, ensuring a hassle-free stop. Though some reviews suggest that it can get a tad warm inside, especially during summer, the ambiance and the delicious offerings more than compensate. And with a future visit in mind, as one customer said, “Everything must be delicious,” you can expect a satisfying experience each time!

With a combination of friendly service, great food, and an appealing locale, Open Cafe Hide is a treasured spot you wouldn't want to miss during your travels in Nara. Friendly cafe for motorcycle riders, located on Route 169 with a view of the Yoshino River. Free parking for motorcycles out front, good coffee (no espresso) and welcoming atmosphere. I had a yakisoba bread lunch set with coffee, ¥1000. Husband and wife team, he speaks a little English and both are motorcycle enthusiasts that ride vintage Honda CB400 . Recommended!
